Forest school is an inspiring, specialised approach to outdoor learning that aims to develop confidence and self esteem through hands-on learning in woodland environments. It has become widely used in a short space of time across the UK.
All of our team have received bespoke training to give them the tools and techniques to be able to offer the children enriching and exciting experiences. Children will be given the opportunity to whittle sticks, learn about body positions and how to be safe, have opportunities to explore the natural world, play some fun games and of course, experience camp fires, and toasted marshmallows.
Forest school is a gradual programme and sessions may take place outside of the forest area. This helps practitioners to prepare the children with expectations, practice using the tools, and getting them comfortable with the natural world. Our forest area is a short walk away from the setting and set with the local primary school’s back field.
